Supporting Ukraine

St Albans diocese is working to co-ordinate assistance for refugees arriving in our area from Ukraine.

There are three areas where support is needed:

  • Financial support – a diocesan fund has been set up to offer immediate support to refugees locally who need money for items such as food and travel. Donations can be made to account number 20776041, sort code 20-05-03, please use reference 2103161 to ensure the money goes to the right fund.

  • Accommodation – some families in the diocese are already offering to accommodate Ukrainians fleeing the conflict. This is encouraged but it is recognised that it is challenging and support can be provided. If you would like to offer accommodation (or already have) but need support please visit this page for more information: www.stalbans.anglican.org/supportukraine/

  • Supportive services – a web-based form has been set up so that you can register other services you can help with to support the refugees such as mental health support, translation and transport. Use the link above to find a form where you can register your offer.

We will also be raising funds for this campaign at our Lent Lunch at St Martin’s Church on Friday 25th March between 12:00 noon and 2:00pm - see our Upcoming Events page.
