Church heating replacement

PLEASE NOTE THE CONSULTATION PERIOD HAS NOW CLOSED BUT YOU CAN STILL VIEW THE DOCUMENTS AND FEEL FREE TO MAKE CONTACT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

If you have visited St Martin’s recently during the cold weather, you will have noticed that unfortunately the majority of the gas heaters in the church have failed. Over the past few months we have been researching and planning for replacing our heating. We have secured the funding to replace with new electric heating in the main church, which will be more sustainable and easier to control.

It will still be a few months before this heating can be installed because of the approvals needed and the lead time for the supplier to install the heating. One of the approvals required is an application for a ‘Faculty’ which gives formal approval for the works from St Albans Diocese. A 28-day formal consultation period is required and relevant documents can be found at the bottom of this page. This includes the notice of consultation and a report which sets out the process we have gone through to identify the preferred solution.

If you would like to discuss the proposals further then please contact Matthew Rheinberg (Churchwarden) at matthew.rheinberg@hotmail.co.uk or on 07736 276813.
