Film Club
Our Film Club is not currently running.
This page shows an example of the evening services and activities that we ran prior to the pandemic - we will update this page when our new vicar is in post and future plans are confirmed.
Film Club is at 6pm on the Second Sunday of the Month. This generally holds a certificate of 12+ viewing and tackles hard hitting subjects such as poverty, bias, disability, and dementia as well as uplifting topics such as love, the champion underdog, community and faith.
In November we always show a film regarding Remembrance Sunday such as ‘Darkest Hour’, ‘Dunkirk’ and ‘1917’ In December we like to show an old black and white Christmas film such as “It’s a Wonderful Life’, ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ and ‘White Christmas’.
We start and end with a prayer and are asked to think before and reflect after about one life lesson you will take away from the film. We stop half way through the film for a 15 minute interval for coffee and cake and chat informally about the film. This is a highlight of the month where we can hear God speak to us through the most fascinating and inspiring films.
