Remembrance

St Martin’s Church celebrates Remembrance Sunday with the dignity, respect and the honour that it deserves.

On Remembrance Sunday we hold a 10am service where we invite the local uniformed organisations to participate in our community church service.

Afterwards at 10.40a.m we parade along London Road, the main street in Shenley, where we meet the wider community for a 20 minute service of Remembrance at Shenley’s War Memorial.

This is a deeply moving and thought provoking time in St Martin’s calendar where we remember that as a church we are called to serve the wider community, remembering our soldiers who gave their tomorrow for our today.
